Cosmo Whyte mines interstitial subjectivity through an engagement with both intimate and public archives, as well as Black spatiality and resistance. His choice of materials, ranging from hand painted beaded curtains to rum, draw upon his Caribbean roots to allegorically engage social and visual histories that continue to impress themselves on the present. Whyte troubles the gap between what is deemed suitable for the archive and what exceeds it.
