Calum Walter

Calum Walter’s films and videos are rooted in a process of observation and accumulation. Through constant documentation of sound and image, he adds to a growing personal database of material. Over time this ‘data’ begins to reveal characteristics and patterns, previously invisible, creating a framework for a new investigation. In editing, unlikely tensions and issues are coaxed out to highlight conflicts between elements, be they human or natural. (Excerpt from grant proposal.)

With the foundation’s support, Mr. Walter intends to finish two films that were in production at the time of his request.
