Kristin Cammermeyer develops site-specific installations in varied locations and contexts. A recent transplant to Los Angeles, she will use the direct artist grant from Harpo to familiarize her self with the city by procuring contiguous sites of production throughout Los Angeles as a means of community engagement. By limiting her materials to what is available at each site these ephemeral works will serve as a model for responsible consumption and promote innovation. Ms. Cammermeyer will generate multi-media works reflexive of the architecture, personal interactions and material uniquely tied to the site. (Excerpt from grant proposal.)
