Ed Levine : Vermont Village

Vermont Village

Ed Levine’s Vermont project started in 1991 on a 10.2 acre property he and his wife Patricia Fuller purchased as a summer home in South Royalton, Vermont. In earlier work, Levine was persistently interested in pushing sculpture into architectural and environmental areas. In Vermont, Levine explored these ideas freely and started building in the clearing at the bottom of the property, working his way up the mountain, to eventually build over fifty site-specific sculptures in the landscape that came to be called Vermont Village: A Conversation between Art, Water and the Land.

Vermont Village engaged Levine’s intellectual and creative energy for three decades. The short film below captures the energy and the mind behind this singular artist-built environment.

Vermont Village will be open to the public at no charge with guided tours available during summer months starting in 2026. For more information, visit our Back River Road Website.
