Jack O’Hearn is interested in material objects and their affect on one’s memory and imagination. He writes, “my work is inspired by my fascination with history, extreme poverty, childhood fantasies, & tales of life beyond the periphery. These subjects share a common link in that they all exist beyond my present experience and therefore act as a source of wonder. My intention is to materialize the workings of my imagination into a physical environment in order to make sense of the self and the cultural conditioning it involves.” (Excerpt from grant proposal.)
Harpo Foundation is pleased to provide Mr. O’Hearn with a direct artist grant to assist his production and development of new work.
